Steps to Transfer Fonts from One Computer to Another

• Open Windows file explorer
• Select C: drive
• From the new window, select Windows
• Open Windows and go to Fonts
• To copy the whole folder right-click on “Fonts” and select the copy option.
  • To copy specific fonts, open the Font folder and select the fonts that you want to transfer or press and hold Ctrl and select the fonts you want
  • If the fonts are grouped, you can just select by dragging and highlighting.
• After selecting, right-click on the selection and click “Copy”.

Note: In some cases, fonts appear as a stack; these fonts will include variations like Bold, Narrow etc. which will be stored in extra files. So, make sure to copy the extra files while transferring the fonts to your new PC.

• Now for storing the copied file, insert your USB or external hard drive to the computer.
• Then go to “My Computer.”
• Your external storage device will be listed under “Devices with Removable Storage.”
• Right-click on the drive and click “Paste”.
• Wait for the transfer to complete then you can safely remove it from your PC.

Now that the fonts you want to transfer to your new computer are stored in your external storage device.

• Plug your USB or external hard drive into your new PC.
• You can click and drag the fonts or folder to where you would like to keep your fonts.

Note: If the font folders are zipped you need to unzip it first because zipped files cannot be installed directly.

Windows 10

• Go to start menu and search for Fonts
• Click on the Fonts settings
• Copy and Paste the fonts or Drag and Drop it to install

Windows 8

• Go to start menu
• Search for Fonts
• Click on the Fonts Folder
• Copy and Paste the fonts or Drag and Drop it to install

Windows 7

• Right-click the font file in the external storage device
• Select Install

Windows Vista

• Go to the Start menu
• Open the Control Panel
• Select Appearance and Personalization
• Click on Fonts
• Click File(press ALT if you don’t see file menu)
• Click on “Install New Font”
• Navigate to the fonts folder that you want to install
• Select the fonts
• Click on the Install

Windows XP

• Go to the Start menu
• Open the Control Panel
• Select the Appearance and Themes category
• From the “See Also” panel select “Fonts”
• Select the “File menu” from the Fonts window
• Click on “Install New Font”
• Navigate to the fonts folder that you want to install
• Select the fonts
• Click “OK”

If your computer has multiple users, you may need to enter administrator password for installing fonts.
